Overview

This little wine from Rioja takes some getting used to when first poured.  It's name, "La Vendimia" translates from "the harvest" in Spanish.  The first reaction you will get is that it is too sweet.  But once it airs for a few minutes the sweetness starts to calm down.  You can detect strawberry, blackberry, and cassis notes on the palate.  It also offers a good finish of mild oak and some hints of vanilla bean. The biggest thing going for this wine is the price, at under $20.  But we think you can find better bargains out there.
