Overview

This is a very accessible fruity (blueberries, plums and bright cherry) red table wine that retails under $15. Poor Merlot, as a New World grape it got a bad rap in the early 00's thanks to the movie Sideways and a tendency of some mass producers to make super oaky sweet wines. Beringer's Stone Cellar Merlot, which blends grapes from around California, has structure and a very slight bit of pin-pricking on the tongue. Good value.
