Wine
Overview
This wine is "Bordeaux blend" of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 25% Merlot from Niagara's Chateau des Charmes. Its name comes from the equestrian love of the vineyard's founder who raises prized Arabians. This is a very elegant wine and one that proves once and for all that Canada can produce some pretty kick-ass wines. On the nose, you will find some great earthy and oaky notes with smoke, black berry fruits, vanilla, and cassis. Lots of complexity here. More fruit on the mouth, specifically dark plums, and more spice with a long and sophisticated finish. This is a wine you can age and savour for years to come with roast beef dinners or holiday feasts of turkey or pork.
