Wine
Overview
Moët et Chandon is a house based in France with a long history. It began as Moët et Cie and was established in 1743 by founder Claude Moët. They began shipping wine from Champagne to Paris, where King Louis XV's reign had seen an increased demand for sparkling wine. In 1832, the son-in-law of a descendant was left a portion of the company, and their last name "Chandon" was added to the house.
This particular champagne by Moët et Chandon, the brut imperial, pours a golden straw colour with a slightly greenish tint. It produces a very fine mousse (head) and produces aromas of fresh flowers, minerals, and yeast. On the palate, you can expect a dry wine with notes of crisp citrus and green apple. A very clean finish. There is a reason this is one of the top selling champagnes on earth.
