We discovered this sauce while in Ottawa on a crisp Spring day when we smelled its delicious aroma coming from a smoker outside of The Black Tomato restaurant in the Byward Market. They even have a unique story related to this BBQ sauce and how it is associated with the restaurant.

When one of the chefs lost their eyesight, they thought his days were numbered in the kitchen.  Instead, he persevered and they took his signature sauce, one he was able to blind perfect if you will, and created Blind Brothers BBQ Sauce, an Ottawa favorite.  It is not too spicy, and has a sweet tang.  Not quite Carolina-style but also far from something out west.  Uniquely Ottawa!  We love it, especially on some grilled chicken wings or as a dipper for the kid's homemade chicken fingers!
