What secret tips or recipes do you have for sweet red onions?


Red onions are a great sweet and spicy ingredient for adding some color and flavour to your summer celebrations and they are at their peak of freshness at the local markets. I just like grilling them on kebabs in the summer. Cannot get enough of them with some pork or chicken and garlic yogurt. That, and salads. I did eat a red onion soup once. It was sweet and served cold with a bit of cream drizzled on top. Forget where, think it was in Alabama. If anyone has the recipe for it, would be appreciated!

Terrible to say, but I actually had one deep-fried in beer batter at a cajun cook-out in Louisiana a few years back. It was sooo delicious! Took me a month to work it off at yoga! LOL
