Several Canadian food authors inspire me--in the newspapers I loved reading Marion Kane's articles when she still was the food editor for the star and I also am a big fan of Lucy Waverman in the Globe. I also love Michael Smith (his secret tips for great scones changed my baking!!) and I plan to buy Laura's latest book--her first one is fantastic!!

I liked the ones you listed in your article. I would also suggest Rose Murray. She and Anita Stewart are two of my favorite Canadian authors when it comes to local food. Rose's A Taste of Canada was wonderful.

Bonnie Stern's books are excellent. Her recipes always work beautifully.
