The famous Holland Marsh is at the centre of the York and Simcoe region north of Toronto.  This area includes Barrie, Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan.  Being so close to the Holland Marsh, residents here have access to some great markets in the summer with a wide range of produce…lucky buggers!  Here is a listing of some major markets in the region this season…  

Hillcrest Mall Farmers' Market – Wednesdays, 10:00am-6:00pm

Discover the Hillcrest Mall Farmers’ Market in Richmond Hill every Wednesday and indulge in some of Ontario's most delectable produce and market fair!  The market features in-season & fantastic fruits, vegetables, meat and cheese in addition to other delectable treats - visit early and often to enjoy each offering in its prime!

Stouffville Farmers' Market – Thursdays, 2:00pm-7:00pm

The Downtown Stouffville Farmers’ Market is a locally grown, producer focused Market. Here, they celebrate the wonderful bounty of freshly produced products from the farmers, businesses, and neighbours in Ontario.

Main Street Markham Farmers' Market – Thursdays & Saturdays

The Farmers Market of Markham Village captures the good old fashioned traditions of the past. The "turn of the century" look of the market is enhanced by a charming venue, complete with old fashioned signs and canopies. Featuring many organically grown fruits and vegetables, as well as baked goods, preserves, flowers and much much more! The market's merchants guarantee quality products and competitive pricing. This market is open Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Simcoe County Eco Farmers' Market – Fridays, 3:30pm

Come to this market and you will find out what fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and preserves really taste like. All products are raised using no chemicals or herbicides and using only earth-friendly and sustainable farming practices. The farmers take pride in offering you fresh, high quality food from their farms. Eating local food in season as you can find at this market reduces greenhouse gasses and is very earth-friendly.

Bradford Farmers' Market – Saturdays, 8:00am-1:00pm

This market in Bradford is one of the best to find local food from the ever fertile Holland Marsh. The best in seasonal fruits, vegetables, and artisan products abound here every season! A great way to spend a day touring southern Ontario! This market is held every Saturday in Bradford.

The Village Market – Saturdays, 8:30am-1:30pm              

Open every Saturday with more than 25 vendors including six farmers, this market in Thornhill offers an unusually wide selection of organic foods, from fresh greens to root vegetables, apples, citrus fruits, milk, yogurt, beef, chicken and salami.

Aurora Farmers Market – Saturdays, 8:00am-1:00pm

The Aurora Farmers' Market and Artisan Fair features local vendors selling produce, meat products, plants, homemade baking and preserves, crafts and more! The Market is open every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from May through to October, and is located at Town Park, on Wells Street between Mosley Street and Metcalfe Street.

Newmarket Farmers' Market –Saturdays, 8:00am-1:00pm

Every Saturday Morning from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in October, a band of farmers, vendors and volunteers transforms the parking lot of Doug Duncan Drive and Timothy Street into a bustling hive of activity reminiscent of Newmarket’s early years as a “new market”. This hive is the Newmarket Main Street Farmers’ Market - a place to buy farm fresh produce, home-made baking, hand-made crafts and a great place to meet up with friends over breakfast or lunch.

Creemore Farmers' Market – Saturdays, 8:30am-12:30pm

Another farm fresh market in the beautiful Simcoe Region of Ontario just north of Toronto. For cottage goers, this market is a must with great local produce, meats, artisan food stuffs, and family fun every Saturday. This event is held at the Station on the Green in Creemore.
